Can’t link my PayPal account to my Coinbase account Fix

How I Fixed My PayPal-Coinbase Linking Issue

I faced a similar issue where my PayPal account wasn’t showing up, despite meeting all the requirements. Here’s how I managed to fix it:

Solution 1: Create a New PayPal and Coinbase Email Setup

After trying several fixes and failing, I discovered this workaround:

1. Create a New Email Address:
   • Set up a new email address that hasn’t been linked to either PayPal or Coinbase.
2. Change Your Coinbase Email Address:
   • Log in to Coinbase, go to Settings > Account, and update your email address to the new one.
3. Set Up a New PayPal Account:
   • Use the same name, address, and new email to create a fresh PayPal account.
4. Link the New PayPal Account to Coinbase:
   • Log in to Coinbase, go to Payment Methods, and add the new PayPal account.

Note: Changing the email on your existing PayPal account won’t work. A completely new PayPal account is required for this solution.

Solution 2: Remove and Re-Add PayPal

If your PayPal account is already linked but not showing up, try the following:

1. Remove the existing PayPal account from Coinbase under Payment Methods.
2. Log out of both platforms and clear your browser’s cache.
3. Re-link the same PayPal account to Coinbase.
4. Ensure that PayPal is set as your default payment method.

Solution 3: Verify Your Accounts

Ensure the following verifications are completed:

• Your Coinbase identity verification is up to date (upload any necessary documents).
• Your PayPal account is verified, including linking a bank account or card.
• Your country of residence is correct on both platforms.

Solution 4: Contact Coinbase Support

If the above fixes don’t work:

1. Open a support ticket via Coinbase’s contact page.
2. Use the Live Chat option for quicker responses.
3. Provide detailed information about your issue, including screenshots if necessary.

User Tip: While support tickets may occasionally be marked as “resolved” without fixing the issue, persistence often pays off. Reopen tickets if necessary.
