College student who earned over $10,000 USD on Paypal by asking for 1$ on Social media
Mike made 10,000 Dollars just by asking random people on twitter and LinkedIn to donate him money, I would not say he was a scammer because people who donated him money did it willingly, including me myself.
He was more of an “online beggar” (emoji)
Just as most services have gone online, begging has gone online too, the coronavirus pandemic drove life online.
The COVID-19 pandemic era accelerated online purchases and package deliveries at an unprecedented rate. More business and services went online, more people embraced online services and this didn’t leave the beggars.
Mike used a simple line to send to everyone he connected with on social media. I think it was kind of automated because ounce you followed him back, you will instantly get a message thanking you for following him and a polite message asking you to donate $1
First time meeting Mike online.
I got a twitter notification from mike back in 2020, his profile had a picture of a dog and his profile was showing he comes from Australia
I meet Mike on twitter first time when he followed me on twitter and following him back, there after he asked me to donate 1$ for him to help him catch up with life, he sounded polite and I didn’t hesitate donating 11$ to him instead of 1$. The twitter message he sent me had a donate link which I clicked and donated using my bank card
Little did I know mike was asking everyone he connects with on his twitter account, at that moment he had over 5500 followers, I believe he just didn’t add anyone but targeted people he added on his twitter account carefully because when I looked at his account, he didn’t have friends a normal college student would have but rather his twitter account had mainly directors, founders, entrepreneurs, and other people with out-standing professions. Am very sure he took time on who he added on his twitter account.
I found myself on his target list maybe because on my profile I had a bio with a word director
How Mike utilized PayPal donate link to raise over 10,000 in less than a year?
Mike used PayPal donation link to get free donations on PayPal, no wonder PayPal is one of the most used payment gateways in the world because it gives you power to raise money even without a bank account and you can accept money directly from PayPal users, visa, master cards, and other debit/credit cards
If ure reading this and u didn’t know how to get donations for free online, a PayPal donation link makes it easier to ask donations by sharing link on social media and website
His Paypal donation link was like this below
Webvator offers PayPal Uganda account setup, Rwanda PayPal, Tanzania PayPal, and in other restricted countries, contacts us if u need account you can use to receive donations or payments with.
How I Found out about his money in his PayPal account
After connecting via twitter and donating to mike back in 2020, months past and in 2022 Feb, that’s when I heard from him again. He sent me a message on my other twitter account where I post stuff about PayPal restrictions and solutions
He had a problem with his account and PayPal has frozen his account asking for documents about what he does and other stuff. This is the time I got a chance to know that mike was actually from Canada
I find it amazing how one can make all that money on PayPal by just asking for 1$ on social media
